Green is definitely Finn's color!



Last night Chelsea and I threw a surprise birthday party for Michael and James. Finn was supposed to be in bed before the party started, but he was too excited to sleep. He spent most of the party playing in the floor with Macey. Watching Finn interact with Macey has given me a good idea of how he will behave as a preschooler. Even at 7 months old Finn did not want to share his toys. Everything that Macey tried to play with Finn would attempt to take away.

Today Michael's birthday present arrived in the mail. It was a desktop computer and it came in a big box. Finn loved in the box. Yesterday was a hard day. Finn is teething pretty badly so he is very restless and very fussy. We haven't been able to put him down all day. When we finally got him comfortable enough to put him in the floor to play, we weren't able to walk away. He was alright as long as we were doing nothing other than looking directly at him within arms reach. After several hours of fussing I put Finn in the big bathtub which helped to calm him down. After Finn's bath he watched a few minutes of the "Secret of Nihm" and then he went to sleep. I was exhausted by 9:00. I don't know what it is about a fussy baby that makes me so tired.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
