Saturday with Dad and Sunday with Mat

On Saturday I left Finn in the capable hands of Daddy while I had a wonderful day Christmas shopping with my Mom. It was a great; it was the most fun I have had shopping in a long, long time. Thanks Mom! The first time I called home, I could barely get a word out of Michael because all I heard was Finn wreaking all sorts of havoc sat home. I chuckled to myself. It was a long day for Daddy and the Finnster. I left at around 9:30 and didn't get home until 6:45. During that time, mom and I went to several shops in the Murfreesboro and bought some really nice things for Michael and Finn. I got some really cute things as well. I can't wait until Christmas; for all the right reasons, of course.

When I got home I asked Michael for a full report so that I could blog. Despite what I heard over the phone, Finn was a jewel for his Dad. He took two great naps - without fussing. At 2:00 Uncle James came over to visit and eat Zaxby's. Michael further reported that Finn attempted to climb the shelves attached to the T.V. cabinet. His legs weren't quiet long enough to climb, but he did shake the daylights out of the cabinet.

When I got home I was welcomed by a little baby that was so happy to see me. As I walked in Michael, Finn and James were sitting on the couch watching Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. When Finn heard me he turned around and stood backward on the couch, a huge smile crossed his face and he excitedly yelled Mama and reached over the couch towards me. It was so sweet it made my heart hurt just a little.

The next morning Finn and I went to Noshville's to eat Breakfast with my good friends Mat Pauley and Dawn (Johnson) Garcia.

I spent more time in college with these two than anyone else. We were all on the same mock trial team. Most of my fondest memories from college involve Mat and Dawn. Unlike our dinner with Deanna and Ben Finn was as good as gold. He sat quietly in his highchair and didn't make a peep. He also offered to share his graham crackers with Jacob, a.k.a, "the baby one." Near the end of breakfast I let Finn sit in the booth with me. Big mistake, he spilled coffee everywhere.

Next we went to church where Finn accompanied me to our Sunday School party. While I was in a meeting with the other teachers, Finn hung out with Monica and Annabelle.

Our Sunday School class - aren't they all beautiful.

Finn was also really good during the party, probably because he was preoccupied with a Crispy Creme doughnut. He ate the whole thing! He had icing all over his face.

These next pictures were taken by Monica. Finn was so funny. He was hamming it up big time. I must have been hanging out with all those girls.

This is just a taste of how Finn has acted all weekend.

Next Finn and I opened our presents from Monica. Monica gave me a beautiful Christmas ornament and Finn got a "Chuck" truck.

When we got home from church Finn was ready for a nap. Before laying Finn down in his crib, I cradled him like a little baby while Michael turned on his lullaby hymns. At that moment Finn looked up and gave me the most precious smile. He just kept looking at me and smiling. It was one of those moments when I just wanted to cry looking at him. In that moment I felt like Finn loved me and much as I love him.

When Finn woke up from his nap he hung out with Deniece, Cousin Gina, Mimi, Aunt Charlene, Grandmother Bryant and Uncle James.

Here we have a picture of Finn and Daddy playing. Finn thought it was really fun when they would touch foreheads.

This is a picture of Finn and I and our new Christmas presents from Monica.

This is a close up of the ornament.

This is Finn holding the cord to the laptop. He was actually following Kodiak around slinging it at him. Finn thought that was so funny; we had to stop that real quick.

Finn really has been so sweet the last few days. I guess it is because he feels so much better. He has just been a joy to hang out with. He his sweet and happy and laughs all the time.
