White Christmas

Today is Finn's second Christmas morning and what a wonderful one it was - complete with snow!!!. Finn woke his exhausted parents up at 6:45 (we didn't end up going to sleep until 1:45 a.m. so you can imagine we were pretty tired). We decided to let Finn eat a little breakfast before showing him everything that Santa brought him. I tried my best to cover his eyes while walking him to the kitchen, but he spotted his "Thomas" right as we turned the corner in to the kitchen. When he saw Thomas those sleepy little eyes popped wide open and he said "Thomas" in the sweetest voice. I sat him down in his high chair and he tried his best to peer around the corner to see Thomas. Finn's appetite has been nonexistent the last few days so he was finished with his breakfast pretty quick.

After cleaning him up we took Finn into the den to see his new presents. First he saw his new toy box. I think that he liked it. He went straight to it and started pointing to one of the trucks. I feel quite certain that Finn doesn't fully appreciate the usefulness of the toy box, but for now he thinks it's great because it always has trucks inside.


Next we showed Finn his new "Thomas" the train. I knew this would be a big hit and I was right.




After playing with Thomas for a while Finn decided to really examine his new toy box where he discovered that there were books on the shelf of the toy box.


After grabbing a book Finn would take it over to Dad. For some reason Finn has decided that Dad is a better reader than Mom. If Michael is in the room Finn will always take the book to him.

It really was a fun morning and I look forward to many more to come.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
