The bouncy chair (Tuesday, October 4, 2009)

Finn and I want to send a big thank you to Cooper Cox for loaning us his bouncy chair. It has been a lifesaver! Finn really seems to enjoy it. Now, while I am working, shower, etc. I can put Finn in the bouncy chair instead of in the crease of the couch :)

Today Finn and I went for a nice long walk through the neighborhood. I knew that it was chilly outside so I made sure to put socks on Finn. When we got outside I was a little stunned at how chilly it really was outside. The socks weren't cutting it so I put my hands around his little feet and held them there the entire time. I looked pretty ridiculous power walking with my hands latched on to Finn's feet.

When we got back from our walk Finn was disappointed to learn that Reba no longer comes on for two full hours in the morning. Instead, it has been cut back to only one hour - yuck. Now what are we going to watch during our 9:00 feeding?

Then Finn and I met our wonderful friends Regina and Micah at the Chocolate Covered Strawberry for some lunch. The boys both slept in their Bjorns the entire time. After lunch we went back to Regina's house for some girl time.
Michael got home around 6:30 that evening. I made taco soup and we watched "Ghost Town." Finn also acted really cute tonight. He was so attentive to Michael. He would just follow Michael with his eyes - it was precious.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
