The Emperor's new clothes (Saturday, October 3, 2009)

Finn and I made a wonderful discovery during the night. We learned that we could nurse laying down. It is wonderful. It makes nighttime feedings so much more enjoyable. The only problem is I fall asleep every single time. I don't really worry about rolling over on him though. Sleeping with one cat on either of side of me for the past year has given me lots of practice.

Today Mom, MJ and I went to Walmart. I love getting out of the house! While out, Mom bought Finn the cutest outfits - hint the title of the blog. Okay, Finn really isn't an emperor, but it sounds better than the "infant son of two middle class lawyers" new clothes. He looks so cute in them!

When we got back from Walmart MJ and Zac left to go to the Vanderbilt game. Afterwards Mom and I went to Murfreesboro to buy a new robe. First we went to Dillards where we ran into Chelsea. While it was nice to see Chelsea I didn't find a robe. After going to several stores I finally found the perfect robe at Belk.

When we got home Mom made a really good dinner. After dinner we sat around a vegged for a few hours. It was really nice relaxing night.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
