An Hommage to the Finnster and JT

Finn's Last Day

     Today was a big day for our family- it was JT's best friend, Finn's, last day for me to babysit him. Finn and JT have been together at least 2-3 times a week since they were about 3/6 months old. JT is 3 months older, so he had to wait for his BFF to be born;) 
     It's now time for Finn to begin his preschool at HCA, so we will only see him for play dates, at church, and whenever us grown ups hang out. Thankfully, Finn's parents are some of our closest friends, so it's not like we won't be seeing Finn any more. I'll continue to babysit Finn's younger brother, Sam, so that is a blessing.
     I decided to look back on a few of the highlights of JT and Finn's adventures, together. Be ready for a photo overload. Erin (Finn's Mommy) get a tissue ready because there are some precious shots seeing our boys grow in a matter of moments.

This is from this week- the boys made a special treat all by themselves. I love how cute they look in the aprons!
Today at lunch, the boys were chatting it up like little old men. Love their lunch conversations about Thomas, animals, dinosaurs, Monster Trucks, and making silly faces/noises.
Thank you Michael and Erin for allowing me to be such a large part of Finn's life. We love you and your family so much.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
