Chapel Day

Today was Finn's first Chapel Day at school.  They have Chapel every Wednesday at HCA and the children are required to wear their Chapel uniform.  At the open house on Thursday I believe I remember being told that the kids didn't have to wear their Chapel uniform this week because it was the first week.   When I dropped Finn off this morning I immediately noticed that all of the children were wearing their Chapel uniforms.  I panicked.  Then I remembered that Finn's Chapel Uniform was still in the trunk of my car wrapped in plastic!  I grabbed the bag and changed Finn in the "indoor play area."  Luckily no other parents came in.

When I started buttoning the shirt Finn looked at me and said, "I don't think this shirt is going to be very comfortable  mom." Comfortable or not - he looked cute.  We just need to get a belt for next week.


 
When I picked Finn up this afternoon I learned that his table manners are starting to catch on.  In the car I asked Finn a couple of questions.  He didn't answer.  I asked again - no answer. I asked Finn what was wrong and looked at me disdainfully.  After swallowing a "single" smarty (candy) he said, "Mom, we don't talk with our mouths full." 
 
Our new morning drop off set up is that I take Finn on my way to work and Michael takes Sam on his way to work.  I didn't see much of Sam until this afternoon when they got home.  We had a nice night.  I had to work a lot of the night preparing for trial - but the boys played nicely in the upstairs TV room.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
