4th of July

The Begley family had a great 4th of July.  It started at 2:30 a.m. when my alarm went off.  It was at this time that I was supposed to feed Will.  I didn't end up waking up until 3:15.  He did not eat easily, but I was able to pump enough milk into him to get him to 7:00 a.m.  Now, we were supposed to eat again 6:30 - but I slept through that again.  I will not be sleep in my bed anymore.  It is just too hard to wake up when I am sleeping in my own bed.

The boys came in our bedroom at around 8:00.  They were very excited to see Will.  They are both a lot more curious about him.  They also want to hold him all the time.

We spent the morning upstairs; the boys played while I fed Will (shocker). Around 11:00 I fed Will and then went outside for my first walk since a week before Will was born.  I was so excited to get outside.  Even though it was hot - it was great!  I'm sure I looked like an idiot walking down the road lip singing with gusto.  It just felt so good to workout again.

When I got back Finn informed me that I couldn't hold Will until I showered.  So I showered and then went right back to the feeding schedule.

Later that night Michael and Sam went to get pizza while Finn and I watched Go Pro videos.  Finn then started talking about how he is the only kid in the world that can do back extensions (on the couch).  Its a shame that Finn is so insecure.

At bedtime Michael put the boys to bed while I gave Will a bath.  After his bath I wrapped him up in a towel and went to tell Sam goodnight. Sam asked if Will could sleep in his bed.  I put him in Sam's bed and we all laid down together for a while.  When it was time for me to leave, Sam said "mom, you leave - I'll take care of Will."  He also gave me a "shooing" motion.   He was so disappointed when I told him that Will couldn't sleep in his bed.  It was so sweet.

Michael and I spent the rest of the evening watching Game of Thrones and then the highlights from the Nashville fireworks show.

It was a really great day.

  1. I couldn't sleep in my bed either. I had to sleep on the couch with the tv on or I just couldn't wake up.
