Toothless

Finally . . . . Sam got a tooth! I have been waiting for months for a tooth to break through and today was the day.  Actually, it may have come in a while ago, and we may have missed it.  It is the eye tooth on the upper left side.  I noticed it today when Sam was trying to suck on my face (not sure why that has started).  I kept looking for a bottom tooth to come in and completely overlooked the uppers. 

Finn is venturing into new and exciting "potty" techniques.  Sunday when we got home from church Finn ran straight into the bathroom and closed the door.  Closing the door is unusual for Finn, but I didn't think too much of it.  When he came out he had little spots of wet on his khakis.  We then noticed that there was a huge puddle on the floor.  Finn proceeds to tell us that he tried to use the bathroom standing up.  He was very disappointed when we explained to him that he is not yet tall enough to "stand up" while using the potty. 

Before his nap Finn watched this new Dinosaur movie.  During one of the fighting scenes in the movie Finn  exclaimed, "He just got OWNED!"  If you know Michael, then you know that this is one of his "sayings."  Finn speaks so much like Michael.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
