Barnes and Noble - A,K,A

Finn's new favorite place. Today was a Finn and Mama day and after a long day of sitting a home, we got in the car and made the trip to Barnes and Noble. The purpose of the trip was to buy a book for me, however the minute we walked in the door Finn was mesmerized. First we saw the Harry Potter display. He yelled "MOVIES" and took off toward them. Then we ran over to the children's section. Finn very quickly found the "Thomas" and trucks section. We sat in the floor and looked at Thomas books for about 30 minutes. Then we found the Mecca of Barnes and Noble - the Thomas the Train table train set. Finn played with the train set for a while until a little girl came up and wanted to to play too. The little girl ran over to Finn, gave him a side hug, and said "I like this baby." In response Finn grabbed his crouch and said and "poo poo." We certainly don't have to worry about Finn being a "ladies man."

Next we went to the adult section. Finn had to touch every book on the way and say "mama's book." I ended up having to carry him until we found my section. When we finally got there I put Finn down and started looking for my book. Then I heard a thud and turned around to see that Finn had knocked about 7 books off the shelf. I hurriedly put the books back, sat with Finn on the floor, held him down with my legs and continued to took for my book. We looked ridiculous.

After we left Barnes and Noble we made a quick stop at Kroger and then came home to start preparing the Lasagna. I turned Mickey on and Finn sat in the floor and watched. After a few minutes I heard Finn whine. When I went into check on him I saw that he managed to get one arm out of his shirt.
As the day went on, Finn felt worse and worse. He hasn't eaten well all week and didn't eat hardly anything for dinner. After dinner Gran and Pa stopped by for about 30 minutes. Then Finn sat with me and went to sleep.

Today we woke up at 6:30 to prepare for our big day at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. The shuttle from the hotel left for the park at 8:00 meaning that we had to be downstairs and ready to go at 7:45. At 7:30 we realized that we had to book our spot on the shuttle the night before. Oops. For two people with jobs requiring close attention to detail we completely fall apart in our personal life. Fortunately we were able to purchase a ticket and catch the 8:00 shuttle anyway. The shuttle ride was interesting; we ended up sitting behind a young couple that could have left about 90% of their PDA in their hotel room and it still would have been too much for my taste. When we got to the park we noticed our ticket required that we show I.D. Well, I didn't bring my purse with me. Oops. After reading and rereading the fine print, we lawyerly types figured out an interpretation that would allow me to get into the park without producing photo i.d. We geared up for the fight

High Ankle Sprain

Wednesday night I got a strange phone call from Michael; he asked if I could get an ice pack and a couple ibuprofen ready for him.  Check it out . . .   He went to the doctor Thursday morning and came home with a boot, a pressure sock and a pair of crutches.  Looks like he will be out of commission for approximately two months.

Sunday

On Sunday morning we slept until 9:30!  Finn was up with the sun, of course, but Sam slept until a little after 9:00. When we got up the sun was shining so we decided to hang the boys gourd bird house from Mr. Gene.  So far we have really enjoyed going to church on Sunday night.  Finn specifically told me that he likes night church better because he can get up and play.  The boys had a pajama party at school today.  It was in honor of Ms. Jenn's last day before maternity leave.  Finn was very excited to show his friends his godzilla feet. Big morning for Finn.  Last night was the first night that we have not put a nighttime pull-up on Finn.  He woke up with a dry bed!
