Grandmother Bryant

Today Finn attended his first family funeral. On Saturday of last week, his great, great Grandmother Pearl Bryant passed away. Today was the funeral. Due to all the family from Ohio coming into town Uncle David, Uncle James and Chelsea spent the night with us. Finn was a little apprehensive about Uncle David. While I was getting ready, Finn was running up and down the hallway and into the bedroom. When he saw Uncle David, he immediately threw the toys he was holding to the ground and latched onto my thigh.

Since we had such a long trip to Erin, TN, Finn was only at Victoria's until 11:00. After we picked him up, we headed straight to the funeral home. On the way there Finn was really fussy so we stopped and got him some Teddy Graham at a gas station in Clarksville and let him stretch his legs. This stop bought us 5 miles of peace. For some reason Finn would only chill out if I was rubbing his leg.

The service was graveside which meant that Finn was ready to play. Michael and I sang the Garden Song and sat in the second row, pointed and said "mama" through most of the song. After we sang, Finn saw some big rocks that he wanted to play with. Big rocks meaning tombstones. To ensure the service could be enjoyed without distraction Finn and I set off for the back of the cemetery. Finn spent a majority of his time cleaning grass and hay off of the headstones. The service was actually great for Finn because was able to play outside for a while.

After a few pictures we went back to MiMi's house for dinner. While there Finn and Daddy rode Uncle Charlie's 4 wheeler. Finn loved it! Thank you Uncle Charlie and try not to work too hard tomorrow.

Finn slept most of the way home from Clarksville, but woke up in terrible mood. When we got him in the house, we stuffed him full of allergy, pain and cough medicine and he snuggled up on the couch with us for about an hour. Right about 8:00 he got a huge burst of energy, but went to bed without a fuss nonetheless.

It was nice day to spend with family; and we are so happy that Grandmother Bryant is home.
